The water temperature is climbing and even the though they have the season closed due to the massive kills by the cold weather this year, the snook fishing has been GREAT! I have been doing best with shrimp and white bait under a Cajun Thunder popping cork. The best action is coming early and late in the day. Seems as if the summer patterns are catching on quickly with the warming trends.
Just a little word of wisdom. When using a popping cork be sure to pop the cork but not excessively. Don’t work the cork like a top water Zara Spook. Just make a few subtle jerks and allow the bait to sit a minute. The cork draws the attention to the bait. Also I know this should be self explanatory but the brass beads go in the water not vice versa so make sure you tie your cork correctly. Until next time…Tight lines!!!
