I am patiently waiting for spring, I miss those tasty hard hitting little snapper. I also miss the black tip fishing, winter is a nice change because of the heat but man it sucks not being able to target all the species I would like. Although there are the power plants, they do hold some of these species but they are normally quite smaller than the ones we catch out in the bay. I will stop griping now and get to fishing.

I have been catching nice redfish and trout around the Picknic Island area. Choice of baits are artifical shads and live shrimp. Work the lure slow and allow it to sit on the bottom for a few seconds. A large majority of the strikes will come from the lure just laying on the ocean floor.
Free line your shrimp, depending on the tide and wind you may want to use a light weight to get the bait to the bottom. I will soon be posting pictures for everyone to see. Until next time, tight lines.
