Delightfuldiver and I went to the pier with grouper sandwiches on our mind. We managed to catch several short grouper, mackeral, and ladyfish, but no keepers. We did spot a couple of large tarpon, but weren't able to get any hook ups. During the night, we found squid hanging out at the top of the water, feeding on the sabiki and greenbacks. We met up with Pucky and he was able to land a monster shark on the avet..... The tide was slack for most of the day and slow in the evening, which made for some no so great fishing, but still had a blast.

i stayed till 5am and scouted out some spots i really havent had a chance to fish. they were REALLY productive. first spot had 3 hits in a row after catching another 24" shark. the first 2 hits didnt hookup though. the 3rd was a short fight before breaking off. this was around 1am.
at 3am i caught a 17" grouper on the spot i caught my first keeper at. it was a hookup as soon as the pinfish landed in the water.
after that i decided to try one of our popular spots and floated out a small crab that we netted off the surface. i was reeling it in slow to try and keep it on the bottom and a grouper hit it and ran in the rocks quick!
i tried at least 5 rockpiles last night. it was really easy to tell if there were grouper hanging out by the way the pinfish was swimming. sometimes they just didnt hit the pinfish though. and lizard fish is proving to be a better bait!! called it a night by 5am. |

| hahah the action at almost every rockpile is the only thing that kept me awake. the tide was decent. i usually lie ea really strong tide but with this tide i felt like i was able to find the fish easier by how the bait was reacting. |

| I castnetted the end of the pier for bait once and brought in on accident about twenty squid(squirted ink all over my rods) and a couple of Ladyfish. |
