Hey Everyone. Looking for some wade flat fishing. I'm new to the area and I'm really interested in catching a red/snook/anything on a fly. Got an 8 weight salt rod/reel. Waded the flats by Gandy and messed around a little at Ft. De Soto, but all the fish I see seem to be mullet. Anyone have any tips? Thanks!!

Have you tried the Skyway flats? Good fishing on both sides. I normally catch Jacks, snook, trout and redfish.

Jacob, don't give up too quick on Ft. Desoto. Try wading in around the Maintenance area. Great holes in there. Another area is Weedon Island, great wading, just be careful of the oyster beds. South side skyway, park in rest area and wade down to the right and out, some good holes with some big ole red fish. Hope this helps.
