This petition is stale now..no new signups in a while.
Looks like this battle is close to lost and this petition never went anywhere.

People ...Wake up you are about to lose one of your most treasured assets
THE SKY WAY PIER..maybe some think its not worth saving, just wait until it happens and its too late, your tears will mean nothing.
Now I am not advocating any use of force or anarchy at all but if I were living there I would be contacting my local officials and state ones, newspapers, and anyone prepared to help in the fight to preserve a wonderful piece of florida, its like everything in this world you never know how good it is until you lose it, Yes I know you have the Gandy and Reddington pier to fish from (I found Reddington expensive and sometimes found very little room to fish and I wondered just how safe it was,) drop a hook or worse your wallet or car keys and its gone through the planks of wood into the sea. that does not happen at the Skyway.
The Skyway offers you everything you need . toilets (albeit they could do with some upgrading and cleaning on occassions) a tackle and bait shop where you could also get a cold drink and a pier where you park your car and fish right next to it, and in some reasonably deep water ..
All for a very small amount of money.
So if you are interested in preserving your fishing for the future sign the petiton and do all you can to add your voice to this forum.
Yes you may say whats it got to do with him he doesent live here, but I have had the pleasure of visiting your Country and State on various occassions, and obviously have fished the area and therefore I know what you stand to lose ,

No question was ever asked by you Dorsal, the petition will be sent when there are sufficient signatures to make a difference. They will be sent many places, news stations, Bill Young, and others.

Sorry, your right, but it was implied. I just think we are now fighting a lost cause. People have given up. Waiting for more signatures is not going to make any difference. The sooner it goes somewhere the better. You can always send another.

Pierfish,

I would like to include your petition in a request to the General Counsel of the FDOT, to try and get some answers on the pier closings. Can you provide me with a copy of the signed petition. I would just provide a link to it on your site, but without any text referring to what the petition is about would be pointless. Of course, I can do this without the extra 300+ signatures, but I am just looking to make more of an impact.

Idea

Dang that's a good Idea. Sure wish more folks were still signing up though, seems like that's it? We're proly gonna need several hundred signatures, if not thousands to make a difference. Smile

The programmer is taking way to long to repair this problem. I am gonna give him a little more time. Hang in there. He just moved so you know how that is Wink
