Always buy the best fishing tackle you can afford. With rods and reels, more money equals better quality.

My son just stepped on one of my flyrods and broke it in half. ( Stan's Law: Any rod left on the floor of the boat will be stepped on. )
This $400 Sage rod has a lifetime guarantee. I'm only out the
$30 something dollars it cost to ship it back to Sage for a replacement rod.

Another rod got eaten by a car door. It was also replaced.
Aloha,
Stan

GREAT Advice - I agree....I highsticked a Blackfin one day on the Kayak with a G Loomis and SNAP it goes....Replaced for $20 Shipping - No questions asked.

( I was way outgunned and was not expecting him to slurp the live pilchard with all the dolphin around.....)

I would recommend this Rod with a Ambasseadeaur 6500 if you like conventionals.....Great for both light salt and fresh water....

Another good spining combo for both would be a Quantum cabo 30 0r 40 paired with ( I like em ) Redbone Hurricane 7'6 Rods if you are going to go with an off the rack stick. Hard to beat a Redbone blank for the $$ ( usually under $100 and with the coupons Sports Authority puts out, you could get $25 off that even )
