Penn is not what Penn was many years ago, and Quantums always seem to have troubles. As far as spinning reels are concerned Daiwa is the best. Line management alone is far superior, digigear system is really good. Airbail is super strong. Tierra or an Advantage wouold be my choice.

I have seen more trouble with Quantums in the surf here in NY than any other reel. Cabo`s that actually had metal filings al over the reel when opened up,gears stripped, and don`t even start with the baitcasting stuff,,nasty. Daiwa is a superior spinning reel.

Sometimes my guy has what you might need and sometimes not,,, it's like going to the good will or a garage sell sometimes you find cool stuff and sometimes not.... He gets stuff in massive quantities... when things get nicked or damaged from sports authority or something, he goes in and buys up all the inventory... Pretty cool.....

And as for as getting all the rods.... that you talked about earlier and stuff, i"m not attacking you, I just don't someone blowing smoke.... but that's an awful lot of equipment for recreational purposes.
