Anyone ever fish at Silver lake in Hernando Co.?
I'm interested in trying it out if there's any fish there.

Nope, never fished that area but curious how the fishing is in that part of the woods. If you go let us know. Hopefully somone that has fished there will give some advice.

Used to camp there with the kids. Took our small boat there several times and fished. Caught a lot of smaller Bass, and plenty of Pan Fish. Kids always liked being able to cook up what they caught for dinner. The lake is basically a wide spot in the river, so you can fish up or down the river as well. Been many years since I was there, but some things don't change hopefully. If you camp at the second campground in, can't remember the name, you can just drag a small boat or canoe up on shore. The last campground in is Crooked River, more secluded and you can still haul your boat to the launch, not far. There is no electric in the two spots I mentioned, water and restroom facilities though. Good luck, it's a great place for a family outing, but get there early, weekends used to fill up quick. I would usually take Friday off and make a long weekend out of it.

Thanks for the info. It looks like it would be a fun place to spend some time. Anything under the water I should be careful of (rocks, stumps etc.)
Any advice on the best baits?

The lake is not very deep in areas from what I remember, as always watch out for trees and such underwater in the river. I just used a trolling motor which was fine for covering the lake and up into the river. As always keep an eye out for submerged logs and such. We fished arti's for the Bass and worms, minnows and chicken livers for the Pan Fish and Cat Fish.
