Got to the south pier about 7:45 am.... got some pins in the bucket and dropped down the first one of the morning. the water was like glass and there was no wind.... i was fishing the incoming tide the very end of it, the tide was still moving good so the bait went out well,, 75 yards out I got hammered i put my 4/0 into gear and it was on,,, nice hard pulling fish, really digging hard, and finally up she came.... I got her up on top of the water and was dragging her in and out of nowwhere flipper appears right on the fish and takes her for a ride, I played tug of war for 10 mins and finally lost the fish and was worn out from flipper.... after that I just sat there and caught some bait and through weights at flipper a few times.... then work called and I had to leave.. but before I left I helped an older couple from michigan with some tips on how to catch macks.... I caught 8 of them and then they got the hang of it and they were then having a blast... _________________ Jason

| Ive seen it many a time. it's awesome. Ive hooked up on a few but never seriously pulled one in off the piers. Saw 15-20 one night at the end of the ssp. We were with some people in a red truck with pole racks on the back at around 3 a.m. tryin to pull a few up/meaning hook em. Also saw some tigers in the water under the bridge. |
