Improved Clinch Knot

improved clinch knot1. Thread the line through the hook eye

2. Wrap the end portion around the standing part of the line five times. Fewer wraps weaken the knot; more wraps are unnecessary.

3. Bring the end back through the opening between the hook and the first wrap.

4. Bring the end back through the large loop.

5. Draw the knot tight by pulling on the hook and the line simultaneously. As soon as you're sure the end will not back out of the large loop, you can turn loose and finish the job of drawing tight.

6. Clip the excess line.
